Random Start: Bobo On The Corner by The Beastie Boys

I have a bit of an odd first memory of the Beastie Boys. I was on a field trip in elementary school, and I had grabbed some of my dad’s CDs (I had gotten tired of Now 3 and Lenny Kravitz’s 5). I was about half way through Ill Communication when an adult chaperone asked me what I was listening to (probably expecting to hear that I was listening to some pop album at the time). I quickly replied that I was listening to the Beastie Boys. I still remember the distraught look on the obvious PMRC-supporter’s face. She then proceded to ask me if my parents knew I was listening to this album, which I answered with a truthful “yes”. She looked horrified for the rest of the trip.
